Remarks:
According to the Tridentine reform, this manuscript has been updated in the last quarter of the 16th century. Following humanistic principles promoted by Trent, the melodies were slightly modified, although generally keeping the main design of the original versions; these ones are still visible beneath the erasures and modifications. The setting of the liturgical elements was also forcibly modified; in this case, however, it is quite impossible to see the original layer. Therefore, for the entry "Use" above, we indicate "Roman (post-tridentine)", and in "Tradition", "Seville (modified according to Roman use)". The flyleaf on the front cover is a fragment from a Temporal antiphoner (15th century) with the Holy Friday Verse "Accedentes principes sacerdotum". The flyleaf on the back cover is a fragment from a Sanctoral antiphoner (16th century), which includes the antiphons "Longo jam tempore" and "Beatus Gui[...]" (non-CAO antiphons), for the feast of William of Maleval (or William the Great).
