Good despite the fragment was used as book cover (see the horizontal fold and the string). The ink is partially vanished on the verso (external cover). Damp patches. The fragment is perforated for ruling (10 mm) along the margins. Wrinkles all over the fragment, mainly in the top half.
Page layout:
The fragment consists of a single-folio. 418-432 x 305-310 mm. Two columns on each page: c. 365 x c. 100 mm. 37 text lines, some with notation.

Decoration:
Red and blue initials, some with filigree.
Inscriptions and marks:
Inscriptions on the verso. On the right-hand side "46" is written in red ink. Another modern hand added "Caixa 285, n. 9" in blue ink. Along the upper-left corner there is a three-line inscription which provides reference on the provenance of the fragment: "Sta Eulalia d'Orvacem" (first line); "Ervacem [...] S. Onaio" (second line); "Ervacem" (third line). Orbacém (civil parish of Caminha) is located ca 50km north-west of Braga.
Remarks:
P. Avelino de Jesus da Costa referes to this fragment as: "Caixa 285, 172 – Número 9 – Tombo de Santa Eulália de Orvacém, 1542, Missal".
